Community Event, Class/Workshop
“Sand Tribe,” a free weekly beachfront meditation led by Shelly Tygielski, Chief Mindfulness Officer at YURU™ Meditation + Mindfulness and a self-described “unlikely meditator”, is celebrating its 3rd birthday. Live music will be featured. During the classes, participants learn to live life with a new mindset anchored by the practice of mindfulness and centered around intentions – such as happiness, love, peace and compassion. They learn how to breathe, relax, chill and just be present with no "hokey" stuff - it's all straight-forward, incredibly practical and completely secular.
Tygielski started with 12 students in November 2015, and now has a community of over 18,000 students with an average of 500 students attending each weekly class. Participants of all ages and any level of meditation experience are welcome to attend.
Tygielski teaches seminars, workshops, retreats and classes on modern mindfulness practices at organizations around the country to Fortune 1000 companies, Inc. 5000 companies, non-profit organizations, government agencies and in public schools. In 2016, she launched “America Meditates,” a grassroots organization bringing 90-minute workshops to cities across America. She is credited with holding the largest mass meditation in the history of Broward County. She is also credited with producing the first mass meditation at a professional sporting event, taking place in 2016 at the AmericanAirlines Arena pre-tip-off at a Miami HEAT game, at an event called HEAT Nation Meditation.
